Phillip R. Garbig

Phillip R. Garbig has been practicing law in Arcanum for 21 years. Phil received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Ohio State University in 1975 and worked in the real estate industry until 1982. He then graduated from Capital University Law School. Phil is currently a member of the Darke County Bar Association (past President), Ohio State Bar Association, American Bar Association, Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers and National Academy of Trial Lawyers. Phil serves as a Trustee for the Hope Foundation of Darke County (past President), the Arcanum Public Library (past President), Darke County Community Improvement Corporation and the Wayne Hospital Company.

Phil and his wife Karen reside in Arcanum. Phil and Karen have three children, Caroline R. Blinn, Aaron Benjamin Garbig, Zachary Stephens Garbig (deceased) and four grandchildren - Ethan, Braden, Regan and Reece. Phil and Karen are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Caroline R. Blinn, daughter of Phil, joined her father in November, 2001. Caroline received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio State University in 1998. She graduated cum laude from Capital University Law School in May, 2001. She was Order of the Curia and while in law school received the CALI Award for Excellence in Evidence and Insurance Law. Caroline is currently president of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and past president of the Darke County Bar Association. Caroline is also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Arcanum Business Association.

Caroline co-published the article "Independent Medical Examinations: When Do They Go Too Far?" in the Ohio Trial Magazine.

Caroline resides with her daughters, Regan & Reece in Arcanum.
